Further Notes
The keel and hull of ‘Hai Mei Gui’ (Sea Rose) was laid in 1982 but the boat was not finished
until 1992 when she was launched by her first owner. She was sold to her second owner in
1993 and sailed to Thailand where she had 4 years use. The present (third) owner purchased
her in 1998 and sailed her in Thai, Malaysian and Singaporean waters. She was sailed to the
Mediterranean in 2008. The boat is currently out of the water, lying at Nave Pegos Boatyard (Bruce’s Yard), Faro. Ten minute taxi ride from Faro airport.
Hai Mei Gui is a strong, heavy displacement cruising boat set up for ease of handling, and can
be sailed single handed or comfortably by two.
