85ft Thames Sailing Barge Ardwina, a timber hull and decks Traditional spritsail rig, with wooden leeboards. Built by Orvis & Fuller of Ipswich,1909, (the last Barge built in Ipswich). 80ft Thames Sailing Barge, an Historic wooden vessel, rebuilt.
A 80ft engineless, wooden Thames Sailing Barge, 1881. Registered in Rochester, Kent. 1882. Built for carrying a cargo of bricks from Medway to the Thames. She crossed the Channel over to France and Holland, around the coast as far south as Southampton and Devonport. Just re surveyed in dry dock June 2022. She has been re antifouled, All in good order. George Smeed has been completely rebuilt / restored over last 30 plus years. In 1922 she was rebuilt to increase her cargo carrying capacity.
