Description

Albatross was built in the Wharf Concordia Shipyard in Amsterdam in 1947. She’s 50’ long and has had a working career both in the Netherlands and on the South Coast of the UK. For the past 16 years she has been lovingly refitted by her owner (an ex chief engineer) for leisure use. Her Caterpillar engine was dismantled and rebuilt, a new post and rudder stock bushes added. He installed a hydraulic steering gear actuating cyclinder with new seals and hoses. In the engine room the old steel floor plates were replaced with Alumnium ones and the windlass control gear have been overhauled with a new solenoid valve fitted. New radar and chart plotter have been installed together with a new outer jib section on the deck crane along with new hydraulic cyclinder and hoses.

Albatross has had regular annual maintenance which includes blasting, scraping and applying 2 coats of anti-foul and anode replacement as required.

Currently she is afloat in island Harbour Marina, Cowes, Isle of Wight
