Great family boat with 2x double beds and 1 x single each in their own rooms, 2 bathrooms one with a shower and bath. Lots of seating bow and stern. Plenty of water 650 litres, hot water is very efficient. We are currently in Hackney, London we welcome viewings!
Hull just been blacked in March 2023, repainted engine bay, bow storage, gas lockers. Such a comfortable reliable home this has been for us.
If you wanted to make it an excellent liveaboard for the winter months you can add a solar set up, either get someone to do it or use our how to solar guide for simple set up That my partner and his friend made after having so many people ask them how to do it for there live in Vans in NZ :) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0BQ27GRF9
AQUARIUS is an awesome 64 ft NARROWBOAT. ?
We are a family of four who have been living comfortably on Aquarius for 6 months.
As we can only be in the UK for 6 months so we are sadly heading back to New Zealand at the end of September.
What makes this boat so good? Aquarius was a hire boat for up to 8 people for a two week cruise. That means the facilities on board are good for 4 people for four weeks (as we have extensively tested) and 2 people for eight weeks. She is super comfy with a great lounge, warm radiators, two bathrooms and a bath. Aquarius comes fully furnished with all you need to hop on and start living! Including 4 bikes, two kayaks, and new linen from Muji.
My main concerns when buying a boat were the hull and engine.
The hull is 10/6/4mm (base/sides/roof) steel construction so super solid and in great shape. It was stripped, and welded in any places it needed (not plated or patched) then blacked with two bitumin coats in April 2023. (We have the invoice for this work).
The engine is a Beta Marine BV1903 diesel running 43hp at 2,800rpm. These are a marinised Kubota engines which are super reliable. I ran Kubotas in excavators in my landscaping business and love them.
3 new house batteries were fitted in May 2023.
BSS to 2024
The engine bay, Bow storage and gas lockers were repainted in March.
Other useful specifications are as follows:
230V circuit installed with supply from inverter only able to run power tools! Independent onboard 230V power from brand new batteries fitted in May 2023 via Sterling 1.8kW modified sine wave inverter
Water storge is 650 litres / 160 gallon, located under the fore deck in a stainless steel tank.
Diesel lasts us for over a month of casual cruising.
Insulation is sprayed PU foam which is great for steel hulls as it dosen't allow moisture to build up against the steel as other insulation does, thus protecting the body of the boat. It works well as insulation too!
The two pump out toilets have 78 gallon (approx) tanks
The cruiser stern shell was built by the reputable by Colecraft Engineering and fitted-out by Napton Narrowboats. Napton Narrowboats have always been seen as being one of Britain's premier hire boat company's and their fit out reflects this. Many boaters have commented on the drop down windows in the lounge that allow you to sit and see out the windows comfortably. We love the extra light and view these bring.
We can send you a load of further information as you require, have loads of historical receipts for work done and are happy to answer any questions. The boat is currently near Oxford and will be heading down to London.
