Tug boat with high (river) and low suction (sea) for sale.
The year has just started, are you ready for a new project? Here you have the opportunity to get a lot of tug – per for little money. However, the tug boat still needs to be refurbished and kissed awake – the ship is currently not ready to drive and therefore needs to be picked up, but offers a lot of potential. The front logis (acommodation) has been gutted and is therefore free of surprises (pollutant-free), thus offering scope for your own ideas when fitting it out. The watercraft can be used as a houseboat or, after refurbishment/renewal of the papers, can also be used commercially. Numerous ship's papers available.
Known issues: Desch clutch auxiliary engine is worn, dismantled and will be enclosed as a sample, condition of main engine is unclear, no static test possible, but no known engine damage. Over- and underwater paint is due. Instrument rudder angle indicator has been removed and needs to be overhauled, will be provided as a sample. Control stand on the observation deck unclear and decommissioned.
The low-speed main engine MWM RH 348 SU is known for its robustness and long service life and is still popular in inland shipping, therefore good spare parts situation. The ship has not been actively used in the past ten years, but has undergone extensive shipbuilding work on the underwater hull. In 2012, for example, the starboard side of the bow was redone at a shipyard (see picture) and various steel plates were professionally welded in again and again. Great importance was attached to not doubling up, but welding in flush. The engine room bulkhead between the engine room and the galley was completely renewed at great expense in a shipyard. The stern cooling water tank and bow fresh water tank (also the trim tank) were extensively refitted at a shipyard in 2016. The shaft and rudder were re-measured in 2011.
The berth of the ship is across a ship yard and enables you cost-effectively for first/further shipbuilding work.
Provenance:
The tugboat has two driving positions. It was converted from a steam tug to a motor tug in 1961/62. The steam tug “Bali” was built at the famous Meyer shipyard in Papenburg/Germany in 1923 and was owned by Woermann-Line in Hamburg as a harbour tug until 1950. In 1950 it was sold to Lütgens and Reimers in Hamburg. In 1951, it was sold to USB-Bremen and was used as “Assistent 1” until its conversion in 1961. After conversion at Mützelfeldt shipyard in Cuxhaven/Germany in 1962, it was renamed “Alk” and was used for many years by the Fehner shipping company in Lemwerder/Germany until 2008, mainly on the Lower Weser. Then renamed “Jupiter” and renamed back to “Alk” in 2012.

The low-speed six cylinder main engine MWM RH 348 SU is wide-spread for inland vessels. Retrofitting a turbocharge could turn the main engine theoretically into the model TRH 348 SU resp. HTRH 348 SU and increase the horse power from RH 348 SU: 525 hp to TRH 348 SU: 800 hp/HTRH 348 SU: 900 hp and a significant higher bollard pull.
