Introducing Elan's E4 award-winning performance-cruiser. Developed to satisfy diverse modes of sailing, from short-handed sailing to crewed racing or family cruising, this yacht does it all amazingly well. Its main design feature, the twin rudders, broad stern and chined hull, all work hand-in-hand towards different goals sparkling performance, improved stability, excellent control and a comfortable interior.


This stunning vessel is currently sitting at Haslar Marina but will be attending the Southampton Boat Show in September.

Construction

The Elan E4, was originally launched in 2017; a 34-foot-9-inch performance cruiser with an emphasis on performing, designed by renowned British naval architect Rob Humphreys.


For those new to Elan, the brand has been in business for seven decades and lately is perhaps even better known in America for its skis. Not surprisingly, given its complementary product lines lots of sailors are fine skiers its boats are as sleek and sporty as its boards


The construction of this E4's hull is accomplished using Vacuum Assisted Infusion Lamination (VAIL) technology, which greatly enhances the hull's mechanical and chemical properties, as well as its strength. Superior materials, such as SVG gelcoat, are employed to provide optimal chemical resistance against osmosis and a mirror finish. The hull is composed of sandwich construction utilizing multi-directional fibreglass, a structural closed-cell foam core on the hull sides, and a single skin on the hull bottom and high-stress areas. Vinyl ester skin coat and Isophthalic polyester resin are also utilized to ensure a product of the highest quality. In addition, a robust inner structure effectively distributes all loads from the keel and rig, while minimizing hull flexing.
