A LOT OF BOAT FOR THE MONEY! A fast, safe & sea kindly sailing boat at a great price. 1978 Jeanneau Melody 33ft Yacht (well known in France/Holland, over 600 built, but only a few imported to UK).

She is very roomy down below (fwd & aft cabin & large saloon) large chart table, galley & heads. She has a large cockpit with tiller steering. She has been upgraded over the years and is in commission - Beta 35hp, mast & boom, sails & furling gear etc.

She has taken us on a Caribbean Adventure and another to the Mediterranean, otherwise sailed Solent, West Country & France in the 18 years we have owned her.

We have finally decided that it is time, and we have got a bigger boat. So this lovely boat - that has looked after us so well over the years, is now ready for the right crew to take her on another adventure.

Most of the photos (all the the main photo section) have been taken in the last couple of weeks, however there are some older photos which show more detail, and our gear on board so you can see storage etc.

Please, no time wasters. This boat has been loved by our family for a lot of years, so it will be very hard to say goodbye to her.

Although a lot of wood has been replaced over the years, the engine box could be replaced, and the wood is not in great condition around the inside of the hatch.

Construction

Built in 1978 by Jeanneau to a design by Andre Mauric.
White GRP hull with style stripes. Alloy toe rail. White GRP superstructure with grey moulded non-slip decks. Hull has been re-painted 2015.
Cast iron fin keel. Semi balanced partially skeg hung rudder (new rudder 2006). Tiller steering, new tiller 2006.
Skin fittings replaced 2011.
Large aft self draining cockpit. New teak slats 2009.

There are dings in deck gelcoat from use.
Windows replaced 2015. Deck hatches have crazed perspex, but not leaking.

The boat does have some blisters, which is reflected in the price.

All standing rigging, new 2006 and most later renewed. Back stay adjuster 2015.
All running rigging, new 2006 or later. 2 genoa halyards, 1 spinnaker halyard, main halyard & topping lift. Spinnaker pole gear & lines.
