Thistle is a motor sailing ketch with a hull shape based on the Scottish North Sea Fishing boats. Long keel slightly raked bow, straight stem and canoe stern. Carvel planked on sawn oak frames.
Accommodation is all forward of the wheel house, Aft of the wheelhouse is a deep open self draining cockpit.
Presently used as a part time base in London , motor only, Rig not in commission.

Carvel planked robustly built with 12inch oak beams, planking is 1 1/8th ins of larch and mahogany.
Surveyed 2015 as a result she was entirely recaulked and splined with a number of the planks were professionally replaced.
July 2018 she was lifted out of the water for more recaulking and re antifouling. She is predominately used as a motor vessel.
The spars and rig require work and attention. There is also some re-planking required on the starboard side.
Deep open aft self draining cockpit with seating. Wheel house and coach roof are constructed of hardwood, varnished and painted. Decks have been sheathed and painted. High solid iroko bulwarks with Iroko capping.around the decks
Keel band requires replacing. internal ballast of lead ingots and cast pig iron. Keel bolts galvanised mild steel
4 berths in two cabins : double berth in the forepeak. bulkhead door shuts this off from the saloon with two opposing 6ft 2inch settee berths. Fixed wooden drop leafed table on the centreline. furniture and fitting is varnished/ polished mahogany . plenty of stowage cupboards through out. Some painted peg board headlining giving ventilation to the inside hull surface.
Before the companionway steps there are the Heads to port, chemical Toilet, (Baby Blake sea toilet- un-installed. U shaped galley surfaces to starboard with a Origo 6000 gimballed oven and hob ( need installing) . Using a microwave for now.
Helm seat and two further single seats fro guests. Door access to aft cockpit and aft deck.

Mainsail and mizzen sail its boom extends over the canoe stern of the vessel. All varnished timber spars, in boom tracks for the main and mizzen sails.
Spars currently require some work. She is predominantly used as a motor boar.
