Freya is a 56ft x 10.2ft traditional style widebeam. She was built in 2009 by Reily Green boat builders for the master boat builder himself and has therefor been built to the highest spec possible, this is visible instantly when stepping on the boat. She comprises of a spacious living area, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms, roomy bright bathroom, large cratch area and oodles of storage. The Hull has been built like a tank with first generation British steel 10, 6, 4mm Hull, sides, roof and also blacked religiously. The traditional external paint work was done with the utmost care and attention to detail. Thanks to Freyas spray foam insulation, her EcoBurn 7 multifuel stove and 5kW webasto heating system Freya is never cold in the winter.
Freya is a warm and cosy, spacious floating Palace, great to relax & stretch out after a long day or host a party with ease as there's room for everyone. With Freya being a 5 berth boat a weekend visit from family or friends to stay is super comfortable. She has an enormous head room for a canal boat of 6.4ft so even your tall friends will be satisfied. Come and take a look :)
As you step on Freyas front entrance through the well kept cratch cover you immediately get a sense of her space and cosiness. The front area is great for meal times, intimate picnics, chilling in the evenings and lazy summer days. The cratch area holds the heat well so you will often find you will have the front doors open in the winter adding to the space. As you step into the open plan living area it is deceivingly big inside, you can feel how easy it is to entertain and accommodate for friends staying over. The EcoBurn multistove is situated here, its ample for heating the boat and with the cast iron radiator in the front room that not only looks great but will get you through the harshest of winters. There is a wall mounted smart TV, Dvd player and built in surround sound and sub. This room also contains the huge sofa bed, with storage, perfect for visitors!
Through into the kitchen she has plenty of cupboards for storage & worktop space to cook for friends, here you have a Belling gas cooker & grill. The open plan, spacious, hub of the boat ensures you can stay involved in all the dinner party debates. Standard sized fridge with hard waring kitchen surfaces. Freya has a separate drinking tap which is the 'Seagull Ecology IV- 1B' water filtration system which will give you the cleanest, clearest of water to drink, super fresh! On the opposite side of the kitchen is the side hatch (every boat needs a side hatch!). Great for watching the world go by.
The first room off our generous hallway is the second bedroom, currently our little boys room. A full sized single room with wardrobe, small cupboard, sizable oak shelf and 2 large underbed draws. There is also a radiator in here for extra heat.
Then into the spacious bathroom which has one of the most comfortable boat toilets around. No need for emptying cassets here, Freya is conveniently installed with a pump out system with a 1000litre capacity. Plenty of storage under the sink & over the bath we have a shower with impressive water pressure. The radiator warms the room perfectly so no shivering after showering.
Down the hall into the master bedroom. Here you have enough room to hop, skip and jump into the insanely comfy, memory foam double bed, great for snuggling all night, not so great getting out the next day. In this room storage is plentiful, 2 double wardrobes, 2 sets of draws, underbed storage and shelves galore!
Up the steps into the engine room. Room enough for all the tools and boat bits. The entire flooring can be taken up super easily for great access to the engine bay and well insulated for the cold winter. There is plumbing for a washing machine and tumble dryer should you like to install them. Freya has a traditional stern, perfect for cruising with all the friends and family along for the ride. Stand, sit or just lay on the roof and soak up the sun.
The roof, this is where the summer is spent and possibly one of our favourite places to be. In the summer we put out the artificial grass and load up the boat with plants, a real contender for londons best garden!
