Step aboard this exceptional 45ft Nelson pilot boat - a timeless motor vessel, expertly renovated over the past three years with love, care and an eye for comfort. Combining rugged sea-keeping heritage with stylish, contemporary living, she comfortably sleeps two (with room for four) and features two heads, making her ideal for long weekend escapes or extended cruising.
Whether you're looking to explore coastal waters or venture further afield, this go-anywhere cruiser offers solid performance, classic character and all the comforts of home.
In 2022, after selling my business, I set my sights on a new adventure at sea. That was when I discovered PB4, one of only eight Royal Navy Nelson-class picket boats being decommissioned and I knew instantly she was the one.
Nelson vessels are renowned for their superb semi-displacement hulls: strong, efficient, and remarkably stable, even in demanding seas. Built to serve the Royal Navy, they carry a proud heritage of seaworthiness and reliability.
PB4 herself had trained generations of officers at Dartmouth. While structurally sound and well maintained, she lacked comfort. We have invested in excess over £120,000 in a meticulous professional refurbishment, transforming her into Stoic: a vessel in pristine condition, ready to offer a couple either the charm of liveaboard life or the freedom of extended cruising.
Our dream was to explore Britain’s coasts, venture through European waterways and eventually reach the Mediterranean. Circumstances changed and that journey is no longer possible for us, but it could be for her next custodian. Stoic now awaits an owner with the same sense of adventure and appreciation for a vessel of this calibre. For more details of our journey please visit our website (link to follow)
