Saul Trader, the iconic and much admired star of stage and screen…… well not exactly but the subject of four entertaining books about her travels, is finally on the market.
After 25 years of ownership I have regretfully decided that the time has come to give someone younger the chance to shepherd this beautiful boat into the next 25 years with the same care and love that I have give her.
Saul Trader is the subject of four books that I have written about the past 25 years of travelling from Gloucestershire to the South of France, via Belgium, Holland and most canals in between. They are warts and all stories that relate the ups and occasional downs of our travels. Full details, and lots of pictures of the boat can be found on my website at www.keithharrisauthor.com
The book is full of amusing anecdotes and tales of sometimes hilarious incidents, Interesting and often humourous reading ……
Self-effacing, inclined to humour and ready to pen an opinion on any subject

Saul Trader was designed and built by master boatbuilder Phil Trotter at RW Davis on the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal. It was originally built for the then owner of the yard and I bought it in 1998. After a spell on the River Severn I took it through the Kennet & Avon Canal to the River Thames in 2000, and crossed the Channel to Calais in July 2001. It is now kept in the port of Ste Sauveur, Toulouse.
Saul Trader is graced with exceptional lines and has often been mistaken for traditional Dutch. It is 70ft long by 13ft in the beam with a draught of 3ft 6ins. The interior is fitted out in afromosia and teak to a very high standard. There are three cabins, each with its own shower and toilet, saloon and galley. Saul Trader is powered by a six cylinder Ford CS6 marinised by Lister providing 128hp.
TRIWV Cerificate valid until June 2029.

We will be aboard throughout June and July in the Toulouse - Canal a la Garonne region if you would like to come and have a tour of the boat and maybe even a short trip.
