Halka comes from a well-known and respected stable. Designed by Martin Sadler, she is extremely sea-kindly and no space is wasted. Halka is a “BIG/little boat.”
I have owned Halka for over 17 years and solo-cruised her successfully, living on-board for several weeks at a time. She has been greatly enhanced over the years to provide exceptional comfort and safety.
A great deal of detailed supporting documentation is available on contact. having worked in the aviation industry for 43 years, I have approached the management of Halka using the standards and skills I would apply professionally.
Halka is ready to be cruised without any further purchases of equipment required. This is reflected in the price and represents a very economic method of starting to cruise in her.
This boat has been extensively engineered over many years to provide a safe and efficient solo cruising vessel. Halka is an extremely adaptable vessel allowing for the accommodation of up to 7 berths but in reality, would provide everything necessary for a couple to cruise safely and comfortably.
Her electrical system boasts a 75Ah lead/acid engine battery with a 100Ah LiPoFe4 house battery and all the required management components required to operate this system safely and efficiently. The main switch panel controls both the 12V and 240V systems. To ensure a resilient power system, charging is available from the shore power battery charger, high output engine alternator, solar panel and wind generator.
A full introduction to all the systems will be available.
A very comprehensive library, including detailed manuals, checklists, notes, logs, is included.
All lines return to the cockpit and everything has been engineered to provide control without unnecessarily leaving the cockpit. Systems such as the anchor stowage provide secure mounting/storage using minimal space and yet safe and secure in a challenging sea. Halka boasts many such enhancements.
This vessel has been sailed in day and night conditions in all ranges of sea conditions in winds up to 50 knots. Halka is tough and capable.
The engine and propeller have been carefully matched to provide thrust that will give up to 6.5 knots in still conditions and a clean hull and is still able to make progress in a slamming sea. The Betamarine engine has been well maintained and is very reliable with a proven record. The 16 hp allows for sufficient thrust and also a useful fuel economy. Red diesel has never been used with this engine and only top-grade road fuel has been used. This has resulted in an extremely reliable and efficient engine along with negligible exposure to diesel bug.
All servicing and engineering upgrades have been extensively documented and details of all systems, periodic servicing and performance logging have been meticulously recorded and provided in a comprehensive and detailed manual and support documentation. A library of manufacturer’s user manuals is also part of the ‘ship’s library.’ A ‘Ship’s papers’ folder is supplied with easy access to all the certification and documentation required to cover legal requirements and more besides.
All these manuals, instructions, logs and documentation are also available in digital form supplied on a usb flash drive.
Halka is sound, and an insurance survey carried out on 28th August 2024 is available for scrutiny.
I recognise that the apparent complexity of this vessel’s systems might seem daunting, but it is all designed to be user friendly and I offer technical support with the vessel. Extensive hand-over briefings and demonstrations are offered along with useful day to day and emergency checklists.

The accommodation on Halka starts with the excellent layout design. There is virtually no wasted space. This design has been enhance further with the addition of lockers and shelves. For a 26 footer, Halka presents more space that one would expect. Not only is the use of space efficient, it is also comfortable and homely.
The comfort is enhanced with the 3 heater sources:-
1. Heat from the engine to a matrix with thermostatically controlled fans for when motoring.
2. Diesel heater with hot air ducting to distribute heat around the vessel.
3. Electric fan heating when shore power is connected.
There is running hot and cold water supplied to mixer taps in the galley and head's basin which is electrically pumped from the 100 litre freshwater tank. The freshwater system has been fully maintained to provide potable water.
The heads are a convenient electric WC with valves to select delivery to a holding tank or overboard as required. This is also enhanced with a secondary macerator pump to empty the holding tank when more than 3-miles off-shore.
The upholstery has all been upgraded to a high spec material with a white and blue striped design making the accommodation areas feel more light and airy. These have all been laundered in March 2026.
Entertainment is provided with a television/DVD player with soundbar and a radio/CD/usb player with cockpit speakers.
The saloon will comfortably sit 5 at the folding table for dining.
The lighting is all warm white LED.
External lighting provides comfortable lighting for the cockpit and floodlights for the foredeck and side decks from the steaming light fitting and the spreaders. There is also red floodlighting to provide a cockpit 'wash lighting' for night sailing.
Accommodation is also enhanced by the cockpit tent which is stored in a dedicated zipped bag mounted on the pushpin. This also acts as a rear dodger to add to the comfort whilst sailing. The cockpit tent includes lighting and curtains, and can be erected in less than 15 minutes.
Access to the cockpit and cockpit tent when erected is aided by the cockpit guard rails arrangement which can be dropped using the fitted quick release shackles. This is without compromising the forward guardrails as the stanchions have their own supporting guys.
Double-skinned glass-fibre hull and top-sides with a solid iron fin keel.
The hull is foam-filled with sufficient buoyancy to maintain the vessel afloat when flooded.
The superstructure is also double skinned adding to the insulation and keeps condensation to a minimum. It is designed to duct all water ingress to the engine bilge which is equipped with an automatic Blige pump and a manual bilge pump operator from the helming position.
The original cockpit construction, using teak strips has been replaced with TekDek synthetic teak surfaces which has sealed the original multiple screw holes.
The washboards have been replaced with transparent polycarbonate which has added to the natural light of the saloon.
The equipment is extensive and renders Halka ready for cruising immediately.
Extensive inventory list is available on enquiry.
The tender is mounted on the foredeck using dedicated tie-down hard points and a specially designed tender bag which makes packing and un-packing the tender a simple process. The accompanying outboard is mounted on the transom using an adjustable mounting bracket along with a lifting derrick arrangement which allows for easy mounting on to the tender and is able to facilitate the use of the outboard as an auxiliary motor.
The storage of all the equipment necessary for cruising has been carefully designed to avoid intruding on the essential living space within the boat.
There is a comprehensive tool kit and spares kit.
A Bimini and named dodgers are also part of the inventory.
The navigation system provide everything required for safe, long-distance cruising.
