43ft narrowboat with 48V DC 8kW Lynch Marlin electric engine.

BUILD:

I built the boat to be our eco-friendly dream home which it has been for nearly 5 years.
The steel hull is standard 10mmx6mmx6mm thickness, finished in December 2019 by John from Three Bz Boat Builders in Polesworth and floated in January 2020. She was anodised and blacked on arrival and was blacked again and anodes checked in Autumn 2022. BSS pass first time in 2023. All paperwork included with sale. No survey needed as she is less than 5 years old and has been lived on continuously. The bilge is 100% dry and the boat has had no damp issues.

FIT OUT:

Spray foam insulation throughout.

The interior is of high quality reclaimed materials where possible:

> Mahogany strip underfloor, blacked.
> Oak parquet floor.
> Upper walls clad in oak (from a former school near Cardiff).
> Lower walls clad in reclaimed pine.

Additional fittings include:

> Copper curtain rails, pipe racks and kichen shelves made bespoke.
> Quartz kitchen counter
> Original two-tiered butler sink.
> Reclaimed marble under stove.
> Inbuilt reclaimed pine bookshelves and storage throughout.
> Six forward windows are double glazed from Wesley Marine Windows.
> Four stern windows are 1920s crittall from a cottage in Guildford.
> "Small Double" sized bed with demko natural mattress.
> Additional berth for single guests (under 5'8") in the stern on a futon above the engine.
> Pigeon box skylight.

HEAT & COOKING

On cold days during the winter months (Late October - Late February) we cook and heat the boat with wood on a beautiful, A-rated Esse Ironheart Stove. We have not installed an electric water heater but this would be possible either under the sink or directly in the shower area. We have found it works well to heat water by induction or stove for washing up or showering but understand that this is personal.

WATER & SANITATION

A huge 990 litre stainless steel water tank lasts 6 weeks between fills or 5 weeks with very heavy use.
Installed is a compost toilet with urine diverter.
French galvanised tub shower - manual drain - this was a choice as many internally draining showers are prone to mold and damp. Ours is not.

ELECTRIC SYSTEM

> 6 large solar panels charge 8 x 12V Xtreme AGM batteries (life expectancy 10 years) installed in December 2021.
> Battery balancers installed to ensure batteries remain healthy.
> Victron Solar Charge Controller, Smart Shunt and Bus Bar
> Victron Multiplus II GX 2400kW 35A provides main and shore power / charging.
> 48V DC long-life LED light bulbs.
> 8kW Lynch Marlin motor - provides almost silent cruising.

Max cruise attempted on a single (sunny) day: 11.5mi over 7.5hrs.
Coming up on their third year, we have noticed no major change in battery output but as cruisers in London, the engine has only had very moderate use.
Charge state, solar power, and other electricity stats can all be read on the Victron app via bluetooth.

PRICE & WORK

We are aware that there is cosmetic repainting to be done externally and some interior aesthetic work around the windows and bathroom also. We know how much it cost to build this boat but we are willing to negotiate to help you accommodate the work you need to do to make you love the boat as much as we have.
