Halcyon is a 51’6” traditional stern narrowboat built in 1993 by Golden Nook Narrowboats. She had a hull survey in March 2019. She was serviced at the same time and has done few hours since.
The well deck is a good size and leads into the saloon. She feels warm and cosy having been fitted out in Piranha Pine T& G and carpeted to the floor. This is a spacious area with room for a sofa bed (or two armchairs), good shelving & cupboard space, a solid fuel stove and a TV aerial point.
The walk through galley follows. Utilities comprise of a four burner gas hob, oven and grill, a 12v fridge with icebox, a stainless steel sink and oodles of storage in cupboards and drawers.
A corridor leading aft has the loo and shower room leading off it on the starboard side, and there are wardrobes, cupboards and shelves all the way along. There is so much storage on this boat!
The basin is stand alone just as you enter the bedroom. The bed is 6’4” x 4’2” and has storage under. There are cupboards at the foot of the bed.
Through a door, past another large cupboard, into the stern cabin. The regularly serviced engine (a 40hp Lister) sits under the deck boards along with the battery bank (domestic batteries new 2019 and the starter new 2018).
On board 230v is provided by either a landline or the 600w inverter, hot water is heated by the engine and on board heating is from either the solid fuel stove or a radiator heated by a back boiler on the stove.
She is full of charm and personality and will make somebody a lovely home or holiday boat.
