Poole Dorset UK|
Now re-launched following a period of annual winter maintenance. Whilst out of the water, the following work was carried out; Hull polished, and two coats of International VC Offshore high strength antifouling applied. Engine oil changed and oil filter replaced. New air filter. Primary and secondary fuel filters replaced. Raw water pump impeller replaced. Heads inlet and outlet seacocks, stripped, checked, lubricated and reassembled. New Volvo stern tube seal fitted. Deck gear serviced and lubricated. Various bits of running rigging renewed.
Evangeline is now completely ready to go and be enjoyed for the 2020 season.
As hull number 97 Evangeline was the first Super Seal to be built by G W Parker and Sons, and as such she benefits from the improvements introduced by Parkers when they took over production from John Baker of Exmouth. Evangeline has been in the same ownership since 2005. She underwent a major refit in 2002 which included complete new rig, professional conversion form outboard to diesel inboard, new cushions and upholstery, and International Gelshield epoxy treatment below the waterline. In our ownership she has been subject to on-going improvements and has been maintained to a very high level.
She has a good racing record at club level (and also in the Round The Island Race), whilst retaining all the necessary cruising comforts - our original reason for buying her was so we could cruise with our two young sons. The boat has an excellent interior, with very high levels of equipment, including 100 litre freshwater tank, pumped hot and cold water to the galley (hot via calorifier from engine), CD stereo, LED lighting throughout, proper heads etc. In 2013 the hull was professionally re-sprayed Marlin Blue, using Awlgrip 2 pack. The finish is stunning, as shown by the photos, all of which were taken in 2019.

Evangeline has been very well cared for, and wanted for very little in our ownership. Everything works as it should and she is a fast boat with a good inventory. I regularly sail her on my own, and she is well set up for single or short handed sailing. If you are looking for a fast, very well equipped, shoal draft cruiser that won’t need any serious expenditure for the foreseeable future please get in touch. For more pictures of Evangeline under sail please take a look David Harding’s website www.sailingscenes.co.uk and search for Evangeline.
