Mithra is a sweet 57’ traditional stern narrowboat built in 1990 by Colecraft, and fitted out by the original owner. She has last blacked in October 2022, and the external paintwork remains in excellent condition after a full repaint in 2017.
The cratch covered well deck is large at 5’10”, with wooden cupboards and drawers for storage.
Steps lead down into the 12’0” saloon. The two chairs and chest of drawers will be removed prior to sale, as the current owners are still living aboard. Once open, this room will have plenty of space for freestanding furniture, a sofa bed or chairs. The Morso Squirrel stove heats a back boiler, connected to 2 radiators and a towel rail.
Next is the 7’0” galley, with solid oak block worktops, stainless steel sink, Hotpoint 4 burner gas hob, oven and grill, and plenty of cupboards. A houdini hatch over brings in additional light and fresh air.
A 6’3” utility room sits midship, with more worktop space, a 12v Inlander fridge with icebox, Zanuzzi Aquacycle washing machine, and a large storage cupboard/wardrobe.
There is a starboard side glazed hatch with roof access in the bathroom corridor leading to the wet room style bathroom (5’0”). This has a Thetford Porta Potti Excellence loo, composite sink, storage, and of course the overhead shower.
Following, the 7’0” bedroom features a 6’4” x 4’0” double berth with storage under, and shelves at both ends.
The engine room is 5’0”, and houses the Beta B43 KC engine, which was last serviced in October 2023. Steps lead up, and out onto the 3’5” stern deck.
12v power is via 3x 110ah domestics with a separate starter, topped up by 400w of solar. 240v is via a Sterling 350w inverter, Dometic travel power generator, or landline. A Chargemaster charger is also installed.
The lighting onboard is mostly LED.
Hot water is provided by a Morco instant gas water heater in the utility room.
She was previously fitted with a diesel fired central heating system, with the pipe and fuel tank still installed. The radiators onboard are heated by the Morso back boiler only.
She is tried and tested as a liveaboard boat, and will make somebody a lovely home.
