Privateer is reluctantly for sale after being in my ownership for 10 years.
If you are looking at this the you may already know about the formidable reputation of the Varne 27. This particular vessel is fantastic example and was built for her original owner for extended offshore cruising.
Privateer was refitted when I purchased her and has been subject to a continued refurbishment and updating since, she is in very good order. Her cabin is well appointed and comfortable with a well-equipped navigation station.
Privateer is ready for the season just having had her Coppercoat refurbished and a spruce up. She is now relaunched and on her mooring in Pembrokeshire which may be availible.

The original Yanmar YM12 underwent a full refurbishment and rebuild before I took ownership. It has proved to be a very reliable engine, not missing a beat since, so I have never considered replacing it.
Privateer's main cabin benefits from the extensive use of teak and wood trim. She has 4 berths: 1 x quarter berth, 1 x single (pilot) berth, and a double which all have recent cusions and covers. There is a tidy galley equiped with a 2 x hob oven and grill. The sink is supplied by both electic and manual pumps.
The forepeak is dedicated to sail and wet gear storage and the heads compartment. The heads compartment has a recent Lavac sea toilet and a small sink.
Privateer has alloy mast and boom fitted with lazy jacks. She was equiped by the original owner with twin spinnaker poles enablling twin head sails to be set for down wind sailing. I have fitted a Furlex roller reefing system which works very well. There are 2 x Lewmar sheet winches and 2 spinnaker winches in the cockpit and a halyard winch at the mast.
Privateer has a dedicated nav station which is equiped with a full suite of navigarion equipment including:
Yeoman Chart Plotter (paper charts)
Lowrance Elite Chart Plotter
ICOM DSC VHF
Privateer is equiped with a stern mounted boarding ladder, lifering with light, throwing line.
Delta anchor with 30 m chain rode.
